Migdal Ohr Canada Annual Gala 2015

The 13th annual Migdal Ohr Gala in Montreal,

November 19, 2015, 370 prestigious guests attended the 13th annual Migdal Ohr gala at The Arsenal, a contemporary art complex in Montreal, under the chairmanship of Mr. Gaby Bitton of the 2015 gala.

At this event, the Gala honored the Canadian ambassadors of Migdal Ohr, Gloria and Marc Kakon, who, surrounded by their children, cut the ribbon for the building dedicated to Marc and Gloria in Migdal Ohr in Israel, while recognizing the colossal work and effort accomplished by Marc for the last 13 years.  His generosity, dedication and unifying spirit has enabled him to communicate his love for others and gather a great number of individuals, year after year, in order to help Rabbi Grossman to ensure the future of his kids in Israel.

Marc’s reputation precedes it, he is part of all causes … Philanthropist and businessman … You said philanthropist? What or who are you talking about? “Just a person who is working to improve the material and moral fate of men”, according to the Petit Robert. And this is indeed the role, mission, the spirit, the nature of Marc Kakon. Multitasker or energetic personality, Marc does not cease to impress the community and do all in his power to improve the destiny of every individual.  Marc is a community leader engaged in numerous non-profit and humanitarian associations.

Animated brilliantly by Eddie Rogosinky, the evening included the luminous presence of Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman, founder and visionary of Migdal Ohr more than 40 years ago.

Migdal Ohr, an organization that supports 12,000 children per year, each year must meet the challenge of an operating budget of $ 35,000,000 of which two thirds are subsidized by the Israeli government. The rest of the budget is filled by the efforts of American, Brazilian, Canadian and English friends of Migdal Ohr.

Funds raised during the gala evening were sent to Migdal Ohr to bring together international efforts.

Finally, Rabbi Grossman and the team of Canadian Friends of Migdal Ohr thank the Gala Committee who has made every effort for the evening’s success.
